SYMBOLIC SYSTEMS

  • I draw what I see, not what I think. Real images emerge from fragments of attention.

  • Visual systems are created by a sequence of broken lines.

  • Progress through the composition tends towards the realisation of freedom.

But the obstacle and the difficulty is,

    that these Reformers make

a great issue out of everything.

(A blessing it would be if nobody

    ever needed them.) They examine

and inquire about the slightest little thing,

and they set their mind immediately on radical reforms,

demanding that these be executed without delay.

PROJECTION

The expansion of drawings and other images onto canvas reveals heightened contrast of detail and space. Overlaying multiple images can realise symbolic relationships between them.
